The radical 2-(3,4-diethynylphenyl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazolyl-1-oxyl 3-oxide (1) was polymerized by oxidative coupling to yield poly(2-(3,4-diethynylenephenyl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazolyl-1-oxyl 3-oxide) (2) containing components of relatively low molecular weight. Different precipitation methods were used for the workup of polyradical 2. An influence of the precipitation method on the magnetic properties was observed.
