Anodic-Oxidation of Porous Carbon
BPL porous carbon is oxidized anodically, and the properties of the oxidized carbons are compared with those of chemically oxidized samples. An interpretation of the results of programmed thermal desorption, base uptake, and heat of neutralization experiments is made, based on the assumed presence of lactonic and acid anhydride structure in the oxide layer.
