Microgels of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) exhibit the interesting property of size contraction with increasing temperature. Fluorescent probes, pyrene and tris(bipyridine)ruthenium, are used to monitor the above changes, and the studies are correlated with independent light scattering data.
