Impact behaviour of plastics components - Crash simulation in vehicle construction
In the event of an accident, vehicle passengers are liable to impact with some part of the plastic interior trim. To prevent injury through high forces, deceleration or sharp edges, such components must be able to absorb energy in a controlled manner without fracturing to form sharp edges. This paper presents possibilities and limitations for calculating the impact behaviour of plastic components.
