The low viscosity of liquid silicone rubber (LSR) requires special precautions with respect to the design and operations of injection moulds for LSR. Use of a standard cold-runner system simplifies processing. While care must be taken to provide proper thermal separation of the runner system from the part-forming sections of the mould, demoulding of parts with small undercuts poses no problems.
