In material recycling of engineering thermolplastics such as polycarbonate, careful sorting and a low level of contamination are essential requirements for obtaining a high-quality recyclate. Contamination with other types of plastic is a particularly critical problem. Studies have been carried out to determine which contaminants are compatible with PC and which are not.
