With the representative cavity method, operating point optimization and process monitoring in a multi-cavity mould can be designed simply and accurately. If the mould-filling characteristics are independent of the operating point in regions in which it is subject to variations or fluctuations, the monitoring mechanisms already available for moulds can be applied to the last cavity to be filled.
