Effect of starved feeding on rubber extrudate properties
Typical natural and butyl rubber compounds were extruded through a laboratory extruder by varying the feeding rate in the starved region at different temperatures and revolutions. Mechanical properties of the vulcanizates suggest that there is a particular feeding rate in the starved fed region which results in maximum tensile and elongation.
