At first the volume flows of demounted fires and disposable technical and other elastomer products are considered, Taking the tires as example, the lecture treats the different use of these products in order to obtain a realistic estimation of the amount to be eliminated, Further more the possibility is considered of avoiding waste together with the status quo of material and thermal recycling. Considering the fact that the possibility of recycling of elastomer products is limited until today and from an environmental view the incineration of used tires is not critical, the result of this report is that the extension of the incineration capacities in cement plants and thermal power-stations is useful and should be developed, The report contains a comparison of the amount of used rubber to be eliminated in Germany and the disposable capacities of recycling today and in future.
