THE GAS-PHASE PROCESS - A NEW ERA IN EPR POLYMERIZATION AND PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY
This paper provides a comparison of the polymerization processes used today in EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) manufacture with the new advanced gas-phase EPR polymerization technology. One of its key features is that the fluidized-bed polymerization process uses no solvents and is environmentally friendly. The resultant product is in a unique free-flowing granular form which gives access to new routes to polymer handling and compounding. Excellent dispersion combined with savings in mixing time and energy are the result. It will also eliminate the requirements for waste disposal and recycling in current packaging.
