Equilibrium ratios of trace components measured under several reduced pressures are plotted against pressure on log-log graph papers. The logarithms of the equilibrium ratio and the pressure exhibit an approximate linear relationship. An equation which expresses the slope of the straight line is derived thermodynamically. The features of the slope shown in the plots can be accounted for by the equation.
