Vapor-liquid equilibrium data for four ternary systems composed of methanol, tert-butylalcohol, tert-butylmethylether and water at atmospheric pressure, and liquid-liquid equilibrium data for two ternary systems of tert-butylmethylether-water-methanol or tert-butylalcohol at 303 K
In order to develop reactive distillation for producing tert-butylmethylether (TBME) from methanol (MeOH) and tert-butylalcohol (TBA), vapor-liquid equilibrium data for four ternary systems of MeOH-TBA-TBME, MeOH-TBA-water, MeOH-TBME-water and TBA-TBME-water have been observed at atmospheric pressure. Estimation of ternary vapor-liquid equilibrium relationships have been made by use of Wilson parameters resulting from binary vapor-liquid equilibrium data composed of members of ternary systems. Further, comparison between ASOG, UNIFAC and Wilson methods have been examined. It is confirmed that Wilson parameters are available to estimate ternary vapor-liquid equilibrium relationships. Also liquid-liquid equilibrium data for two ternary systems of TBA-TBME-water and MeOH-TBME-water have been observed at 303 K.
