Biomaterials as Antigen Delivery Carrier for Cancer Immunotherapy

Since immunotherapy provides an opportunity to treat metastatic and disseminated tumors, it has become a major treatment strategy for cancer. However, current cancer immunotherapeutics have often exhibited insufficient practical outcomes, primarily attributed to inefficient delivery of tumor-associated antigens to elicit anticancer immunity. To achieve improved therapeutic efficacy, numerous efforts have been made to harness biomaterials for the targeted or sustained delivery of tumor-associated antigens to antigen-presenting cells. In this review, we highlight recent advances in the development of biomaterials to deliver tumor-associated antigens and their therapeutic potential for cancer treatment.
