Solubility of Salicylic Acid, Salicylamide, and Fenofibrate in Organic Solvents at Low Temperatures
In the present work, the solubility of salicylic acid, salicylamide, and fenofibrate (form I) has been determined in acetone, acetonitrile, ethyl acetate, and methanol in the range of -30 to +10 degrees C. Salicylic acid and salicylamide have the highest solubility in acetone and the lowest in acetonitrile. Fenofibrate has the highest solubility in ethyl acetate and the lowest in methanol. In all solvents except for acetonitrile, the solubility of salicylic acid is higher than the solubility of the other two compounds. In all solvents except for ethyl acetate, the solubility of fenofibrate is lower than the solubility of the other two compounds. In all cases, the solubility increases with increasing temperature and agrees well with the previously published data at higher temperatures. Finally, an empirical equation is fitted to the experimental
