The synthesis of unstable aryl difluorovinyl pinacolboronates was achieved by the dehydrofluorination of alpha-trifluoromethyl arylmethyl pinacolboronates with LDA. These aryl difluorovinyl pinacolboronates can be used for Suzuki-Miyaura coupling with various aryl halides under Pd-catalysis to furnish diaryl gem-difluorovinyl compounds.
