Euler-Lagrange-Modell zur Simulation des Carbonate-Looping-ProzessesEuler-Lagrange Model for the Simulation of Carbonate Looping Process
Considerable experimental research has been already carried out on carbonate looping with respect to process design and development. By contrast, few numerical works that are mostly based on one-dimensional or equilibrium-state are available. However, for a precise description of these processes, more sophisticated approaches are required. Therefore, a three-dimensional transient CFD-DEM model has been developed for the simulation of the carbonate looping process at MWth scale. Sets of experimental data obtained from a 1-MWth pilot plant, a downscaled 3D-cold flow model and a quasi 2D laboratory fluidized bed are applied for model validation. The numerical results are in good agreement with the measurements and proof the applicability of the model.
