Electrochromic Properties of Molybdenum Trioxide Thin-Films Prepared by Chemical-Vapor-Deposition
Electrochromic molybdenum trioxide thin films were prepared by chemical vapor deposition. The source material was molybdenum carbonyl. Amorphous molybdenum trioxide thin films were produced at a substrate temperature 300 degrees C. Reduction and oxidation of the films in a 0.3M LiClO4 propylene carbonate solution caused desirable changes in optical absorption. Coulometry indicated that the coloration efficiency was 25.8 cm(2) . C-1.
