Calibration of an Electrochemical Quartz-Crystal Microbalance During Localized Corrosion
An electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) was calibrated during the course of the self-propagating dissolution of a Ni-Cu film initiated by a laser pulse focused on a 0.1 mm spot. The initial spot spread over the surface in a well-defined circular form. This enabled us to perform an EQCM mass sensitivity calibration through frequency and current measurements during the dissolution process.
