Gas Plasma Treatment of Cathodes to Improve Li/SO2 Cell Performance
Overall performance after storage at 71 degrees C of spirally wound, hermetically sealed, Li/SO2 squat "D" sized cells discharged at 3 A at -29 degrees C can be improved by exposing the porous carbon cathodes to a room temperature, low pressure gas plasma prior to cell assembly.
