Adsorption and desorption of lysozyme and albumin to cibacron blue 3GA using gel beads and membrane discs
The adsorption and desorption properties of lysozyme and bovine serum albumin to immobilized Cibacron Blue 3GA using different solid supports, gel beads and membrane discs, are investigated in this study. The experimental results show that both lysozyme and BSA were adsorbed onto the gel beads, but only lysozyme can be bound to membranes. Moreover, the adsorption and desorption isotherms were different even though they both represent the relationship between the adsorbed amount and the solution concentration at equilibrium under a certain temperature. The desorption kinetics are also found distinct from the adsorption kinetics. On the other hand, effective models were used to fit the experimental results. The modeling results are in good agreement with the experimental data.
