Isosteric heat of methane sorption on selected hard coals
Two types of coal with different degrees of coalification were used to study the effect of their chem. compn. on sorption properties. Contents of volatile parts and elemental C in the coals were 29.2% and 86.4% and 40.9% and 79.6%, resp. Both coal types were used sep. to measure MeH sorption at 298 and 308 K and variable pressure conditions under 0-2.5 MPa. Based on the obtained isotherms, isosteric heats of MeH sorption were detd. They were 28.3-31.3 kJ/mol and 11.6-14.0 kJ/mol, resp.
