Examination of the possibility of using pyrolytic fraction from the processing of used tires as a component of residual fuels
Waste component (R) from tire pyrolysis was added in quantities 10-30% by mass to samples of two types of heavy fuel oil (P1 and P2), mech. mixed (75 rpm, 70 degrees C, 20 min) to obtain a modified residual fuels. Properties of the fuels were detd. in accordance with relevant stds. In addn., the compatibility of R with P1 and R with P2 as well as modified fuels with nitrile and F elastomers was detd. R was not compatible with P2 and blending of both components resulted in the pptn. of a sediment. Its amt. increased with the increasing of R content in the modified fuel as well as the time of its storage. The R and P1-based fuels changed slightly the properties of the F elastomer.
