Further enhancement of SERS signals from Au@Ag@PSPAA core-shell nanoparticles surrounded by Ag nanoplates
Ag nanoplates with inserted Au@Ag@PSPAA core-shell nanoparticles were designed and prepared. Compared with the initial Au NPs, the obtained core-shell NPs shown significantly enhanced SERS signals. The enhancement ratios of the peak at 1086, 1346, and 1575 cm(-1) from 4-nitrothiophenol were 39.98, 35.28, and 27.02, respectively. Such an enhancement phenomenon can be effectively reproduced in different batches of sandwiched Ag nanoplates prepared separately owing to their facile synthesis process. The corresponding relative standard deviation value of 10.32%, 11.64%, and 11.70% for SERS peaks at 1086, 1346, and 1575 cm(-1) was obtained for 10 pitches of samples, respectively. This strategy may represent a new way to rational design and prepare functional noble metal nanomaterials with remarkable SERS activities for a broad range of applications such as clinical immunoassay.
