Application of a Gradient-Enhanced Measurement for Carbon-Carbon Coupling-Constants (Grecco) to a Conformational Study of Geraniol and (E,E)-Farnesol
A new technique gradient enhanced measurement for carbon-carbon coupling constants (GRECCO) is reported for the measurement of geminal and vicinal carbon-carbon coupling constants. The method is used for the conformational analysis of the di- and triterpenes geraniol and farnesol. Both compounds were found to exist mainly in transoidal conformations.
