Separation of particles from the gas by using of cyclonic separation in the cyclotubes of scrubber installed in gas compressor station
This paper aims to investigate the flow of natural gas in the cyclotubes of scrubber installed in gas compressor station. The boundary conditions of this cyclotube are similar to the actual condition of the facility and static pressure, tangential velocity, axial velocity and radial velocity in different lengthwise and transverse sections have been investigated. After simulating the flow, black powder particles were injected into cyclotubes and the number of particles trapped and exited from the cyclotube was measured. These particles are studied in five different diameters and at six velocities, and the cyclotube efficiency is obtained for 30 states. In the end, by measuring the pressure drop in the cyclotube, its effectiveness is discussed. The efficiencies were found in cyclotubes that have a particle diameter between 40% and 60% is lower than the predicted value. Also, the results show that with increasing velocity, the pressure drop increases. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
