New sustainable and environmental friendly process of synthesis of highly porous Mo2S3 nanoflowers in cooking oil and their electrochemical properties
In the present study, a novel eco-friendly approach for the synthesis of hierarchically porous Mo2S3 nanoflowers in cooking oil have been developed. This approach enables us to stabilize high temperature phase of Mo2S3 even at 150 degrees C under hydrothermal condition in the environmentally benign solvent for the first time. The above low temperature approach leads to the formation of Mo2S3 nanoflowers (diameter 0.5-2.0 mu m and leaf thickness of similar to 10 nm). Further electrochemical studies shows that the as-synthesized Mo2S3 electrode shows high specific capacitance similar to 248 F/g at a current density of 1 mA/g in Na2SO4 electrolyte. The Mo2S3 electrode showed high power and energy density of similar to 15.98 kWkg(-1) and similar to 98.7 Whkg(-1) respectively. Also, the Mo2S3 electrode shows good electrochemical stability up to 3000 cycles. Thus from the above study, we have shown that the possibility of stabilization of metal chalcogenide in cooking oil and shown its high performance supercapacitors applications.
