Correlations between germination ability and selected physico-chemical properties of serradella (Ornithopus sativus L.)
Grains of the serradella were sepd. in terms of their mass on 7 fractions by using air flowing through a com. separator at a speed 3.85-6.49 m/s and then the av. grain size, its mass, chem. compn. (total sugars, reducing sugars, dry matter, total ash and protein) as well as germination ability and germination time were detd. for each fraction. The grains sepd. at the air velocity exceeding 6.05 m/s had suitable (over 75%) values of germination indicators and the largest dimensions, mass and the protein content.
