Chalcogenation Reaction of Cyclic Digermenes
Chalcogenation reactions of stable cyclic digermenes with elemental sulfur and selenium have been examined, resulting in the formation of [Ge(2)Ch(2/3)C(x)] heterocycles, which should be a convenient procedure for the preparation of the cyclic tetrel chalcogenides. Thus, the [Ge(2)Ch(3)] heterocyclic compounds 5 were isolated for the first time, and the experimental data and theoretical calculations suggested the considerable delocalization of the lone pair on the chalcogen atoms.
