Study of biodegradation of fertilizer chelators in water under the kinetic test conditions
Five chelating agents were studied for biodegradability in activated sludge under kinetic test conditions (aeration) for 42 days. The degrdn. degree of the ethylenediamine-N,N'-di(2-hydroxyphenyl) acetic acid was 55% and of ethylenediamine-N,N'-di(2-hydroxy-5-sulfophenyl) acetic acid was 34%. The iminodisuccinic acid was completely degraded after 5 days of expts.
