Visible-Light-Assisted Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction over InTaO4: Selective Methanol Formation
The InTaO4 materials were prepared by a facile sol-gel route, and Ni nanoparticles were loaded by the photodeposition method. Prepared materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction, ultraviolet, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. InTaO4 shows CO2 reduction under visible light irradiation. Using Ni/InTaO4 as heterogeneous catalysts, the photocatalytic performance of CO2 to methanol conversion was remarkably enhanced. Loading of Ni slightly reduces the band gap and may help to slow the recombination process, which provides a higher yield of methanol.
