Theoretical modeling of the magnetic field effect detected in the photolysis of 7-silanorbornadiene derivatives has clearly demonstrated the involvement of biradical intermediates and confirmed the participation of both singlet and triplet excited states of dimethylsilylene, :SiMe2.
