Rheological Characterization of Dilute Polyisobutylene Solutions
The Weissenberg effect and its relationship to the rheological properties of PIB/PB/decaline systems were investigated. For a low deformation rate, the polymer solution can be regarded as a second-order fluid and rod-climbing constant, which is proportional to the climbing height due to the elastic properties, is correlated with the rheological properties of these systems. The rod-climbing constants of these systems are increased with polymer concentration, solvent viscosity and molecular weight, but decreased with temperature. The first normal stree difference and relaxation time were measured various experiments. Also, we normalized both storage and loss modulus by temperature and concentration shift factors.
