Solubility of hydrogen in ice Ih along the ice melting curve
Melting curves of pure ice Ih and ice Ih pressurized with hydrogen have been studied with use of differential thermal analysis. Solubility of hydrogen in ice Ih along the ice melting curve has been calculated based on difference of the obtained experimental melting curves. At pressures below 1600 bar hydrogen solubility in the ice appeared to be lower in comparison with hydrogen solubility in liquid water at the same pressure. In the pressure interval 1600-2000 bar the situation is reversed. Hydrogen solubility in ice Ih along the ice melting curve may be calculated with use of equation S-s = -0.1 + 0.0161.P-8.0.10(-6).P-2 + 5.5.10(-9).P-3, where S-s is given in cm(3) of hydrogen (at standard temperature and pressure) per 1 g of ice Ih, P - in bars.
