The new chemical insight for understanding the mechanism of Henry reaction over Cu(II) catalyst
In this work, we present an alternative mechanism without the initial coordination of reactant and catalyst for the asymmetric Henry reaction over Cu(II) catalyst. Our calculations show that the re-coordination of acetate and Cu center is essential for the enantioselectivity. Thus, any effect of the re-coordination process would affect the enantioselectivity for this reaction. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
