Dielectric and optical study of the M-phase LNT (Li-Nb-Ti-O) solid solutions
The M-phase Li1+xNb1-xTixO3(x = 0.06, 0.10, 0.14, 0.18) solid solutions have been successfully synthesized in the Li2O-Nb2O5-TiO2 system by solid state reaction method. XRD patterns of the samples have shown that these possesses hexagonal structure. Spherical shaped and closely packed grains were formed with low porosity (< 5%). These ceramics can be considered as low-sintering dielectrics as they were sintered to high density (relative density > 94%) at 1100 degrees C. Particle size was obtained in the range of 401.5-351.3 nm using TEM images. The values of the relative permittivity varied from 42 to 51 while loss tangent ranged from 0.0212 to 0.0701 at 1 MHz frequency. The highest PL intensity of 203.13 that exhibits the blue emission (453 nm) was obtained for the composition of Li1.1Nb0.9Ti0.1O3. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
