The flocculation technique is widely used to remove impurities from traditional Chinese medicines. In this work, chitosan was used to flocculate Pudilan SanWei water extraction and the optimal process parameters and flocculation mechanisms explored. The technique could lead to energy savings and improved production efficiency.
