Recently, for the purpose of environmental protection, all industries have been trying to make non-toxic or low toxic products. But, the existing water-based pressure-sensitive adhesives have been showed a weakness in the water resistant and the durability of adhesive strength with time because of the use of low molecular weight surfactants. In this study, in order to overcome the above problems, the water-based acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives using polymeric emulsifier were prepared. It was shown that the initial tackiness, peel strength and holding strength were significantly affected by the molecular weight of polymeric emulsifier.
