Evaluation of the geranyl esters-containing pheromone traps used for monitoring Elateridae family beetles in crops
Three pheromone prepns. with geranyl octanoate, butanoate or hexanoate as a dominant component were used to assess the effectiveness of trapping the Agriotes lineatus L, A. obscurus L and A. sputator L beetles on agriculture fields located in Great Poland and Masuria regions. In 2011-2015, six traps with pheromones were placed at 1-week intervals on tested plantations of crops (size about 1 ha) to det. the no. of trapped beetles. Tests showed more effective trapping the beetles in Great Poland compared to Masuria. In both locations, A. lineatus L and A. obscurus L were trapped more efficiently than A. sputator L.
