Ab-Initio Study of Anionic-Polymerization - Initiation Reactions of Carbosilane Polymer
An ab initio quantum chemical study is performed for some initiation reactions of anionic polymerization of SiH2=CH2. As initiator reagent, lithium alkoxide has better selectivity than the alkyl metal : formation of CH3O-SiH2-CH2-Li is more feasible than CH3O-CH2-SiH2-Li, and other reaction paths are found to be subsidiary.
