Optical Regulation of Carbon Nanodots by Chemical Functionalization
The chemical functionalization of carbon nanodots (CNDs) with a bis-amino-modified silicone reagent enhanced their fluorescence properties. Further treatment with a poly(ethylene glycol)-phospholipid surfactant increased the water dispersibility and promoted the nanoassembly of the silicone-modified CNDs. The synthesized nanocomplexes were found to be biologically compatible and useful for cellular fluorescence imaging.
