Synthesis and electrochemical performance of cable-like copper vanadates/polypyrrole nanobelts as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries
Cable-like CuV2O6/polypyrrole (CVO/PPy) nanobelts have been synthesized via in-situ oxidative polymerization of pyrrole monomers on the surface of hydrothermally synthesized alpha-CuV2O6 (CVO) nanobelts. The microscope analysis revealed that the diameter of cable-like CVO/PPy nanobelts focused on 80-110 nm and the shell thickness was about 10-30 nm. The electrochemical properties of the cable-like CVO/PPy nanobelts as anode materials were systematically investigated and compared with bare alpha-CuV2O6 nano belts. It was found that the electrochemical performance of the CVO/PPy nanobelts was significantly enhanced. The results suggest that the conductive PPy nanolayer coating help to preserve high capacity, maintain high electrochemical stability, and reduce charge transfer resistance during cycling performance.
