This paper aims to discuss the use of the Coats-Redfern equation to determine the kinetic parameters of pyrolysis processes of long flame coal by Lin et al. (2014). The original paper has presented the incorrect Coats-Redfern kinetic model to compute the activation energy and the frequency factor.
