플라즈마 용사된 Al2O3 층의 특성에 미치는 입자크기의 영향
Effect of Particle Size on the CharacterizatIon of Plasma Sprayed A2O3 Coating Layer
초록
본 연구는 0.1 ~ 12μm 압도분포를 갖는 미세 Al2O3를 이용하여 플라즈마 용사한 후 상업용 용사분말 (Metco 105)과 용사층의 특성을 비교하였다. 미세조직은 미세 Al2O3층이 상업용분말보다 더 치밀하였고 용사층의 평균 표면조도 (R)는 미세 Al2O3의 경우에 5.3μm로 상업용 분말 (R=8.2μm) 보다 작은 값을 보였으며, 용사층의 평균 splat 두께는 1.4μm이였다. 또한 용사층에는 많은 양의 부분 용융입자가 관찰되었다. XRD분석결과 두 분말 모두 용사층을 이루는 주된 상은 r-Al2O3이였으며 a-Al2O3도 값은 두 분말에서 큰 차이를 보이지는 않았으나, 미세 Al2O3의 경우 큰 경도값 편차를 보였으며 따라서 미세 Al2O3층의 splat의 접합강도는 상업용 Al2O3보다 상대적으로 낮을 것으로 생각된다.
An objective of this study is to compare the characteristics of coating layer of pJasma sprayed fine AI2O3 and those of layer by commercial A2O3(Metco 105). The microstructure of fine Al2O3 coating layer was denser compared with commercial Al2O3 coating layer. The surface roughness(R) of the layer by the iine Al2O3 was lower compared with that of commercial Al2O3. Thickness of splat for fine AI2O3 was 1.4μm while the commercial Al2O3 was 3.53μm. The main phase existing in coating layer was of r- Al2O3 and the fraction of a-Al2O3 in fine Al2O3 coating layer was 8.39% and that of commercial Al2O3 was 13.79%. Microhardness was no great difference between the fine and commercial Al2O3 but deviation of the fine Al2O3 coating layer was relatively large. AccordingJy, the strength of splat of the coating was expected that fine Al2O3 was lower than commercial Al2O3 powder.
