Fast and direct determination of mancozeb through batch injection analysis with amperometric detection on boron-doped diamond electrodes
This work describes the determination of mancozeb in insecticide samples using batch injection analysis (BIA) with pulsed amperometric detection (PAD) on boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes. The BIA amperometric parameters were evaluated and the best responses were achieved in phosphate solution at pH 9.0, using a detection potential of 0.3 V, cleaning potential of 0.0 V, dispensing rate of 160 mu L s(-1) and injection volume of 100 mu L. A linear analytical curve was observed in the 40-650 mu mol L-1 range, with a detection limit of 5.14 x 10(-7) mol L-1. The determination of mancozeb in the insecticide samples proved to be in agreement with the standard iodometric titration (CIPAC method), with a 95% confidence level and with a relative error lower than 2%. In this way, the BIA-PAD method presented a fast response, high sensitivity, good repeatability and good reproducibility. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
