Electrochemical determination of uric acid in the presence of ascorbic acid on electrochemically reduced graphene oxide modified electrode
Indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes modified with electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ERGO) without any glue reagents were used for uric acid determination. The modified electrodes showed excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the oxidation of uric acid, which permitted the highly sensitive detection of uric acid in the presence of ascorbic acid at a concentration that was more than two orders of magnitude greater than the concentration of uric acid. Differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) was used to determine the linear uric acid detection range (0.3-100 mu M) and the detection limit (0.3 mu M). The practical analytical utility of the method was demonstrated by the selective measurement of uric acid in human urine without preliminary treatments. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
