Energy and power performance of vanadium carbide derived carbon electrode materials for supercapacitors
Electrochemical characteristics of the electrical double layer capacitor based on the nanoporous vanadium carbide derived carbon electrodes in 1 M (C(2)H(5))(3)CH(3)NBF(4) acetonitrile solution have been studied using cyclic voltammetry, constant current charge/discharge and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy methods. The dependence of ideal polarizability limits, time constant, complex power components, gravimetric capacitance and other parameters of carbons prepared at different chlorination temperatures have been obtained. The gas adsorption measurements have been used for determination of the specific surface area, pore size distribution, micropore volume and other characteristics, noticeably depending on the carbon material synthesis temperature.
