Network thermodynamics and bond graph theory have been used in modelling of coupled diffusion in a mixture of two components permeating through a membrane. The possibility of evaluating the degree of coupling from the steady-state measurements has been shown, as well as the influence of coupling on separation properties of the system. The results may be utilized to properly set up separation experiments in order to achieve the maximum possible separation in an experimental system.
