Birefringence of nematic liquid crystal in microwave and light wave region
The birefringence values of a nematic liquid crystal (NLC), Delta n' in the microwave region and An in the light wave region, were measured and compared. The value of Delta n' was found to be smaller than Delta n, because the influence of a dielectric relaxation of the LC molecules still remained in the microwave region.
