Hydrodynamics of confined fluidization in a stationary bed with various particle shape
Fine glass beds were fluidized with compressed air in stationary beds of packed bed of activated Al2O3, SiO2 gel and activated C to det. the pressure drop, min. fluidization velocity and expansion of the systems. The exptl. results were compared with the data from systems where the particle shape was neglected. Both the particle surface roughness and stationary bed porosity were important for the hydrodynamic characteristics of the confined fluidization curves.
