TiO2와 가시광선을 이용한 사염화탄소의 분해
Photodegradation of Carbon Tetrachloride Using Sensitized TiO2 and Visible Light
TiO2 has been widely used as photocatalysts. It has shown good performance, especially, in environmental applications for contaminant detoxification. However, TiO2 has an intrinsic limit for solar applications because it can be excited by only UV light not by visible light. In this study, an application of TiO2 photocatalyst sensitized with tris(4,4''-dicarboxy-2,2-bipyridyl) ruthenium complex to CCl4 degradating using visible light was investigated. By injecting electrons from the photoexcited sensitizer to the conduction band of TiO2, the photoreductive decomposition of CCl4 was achieved under the photoirradiation of λ>420 nm. The effects of pH, dissolved gases and sensitizer concentration on the photodegradative dfficiency were examined.
